Opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani school Karabakh, initiated by First Vice President of Azerbaijan Republic Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, was held in Nantes, France on April 20. Fuad Muradov, chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Diaspora, Ebrar Cubukcu, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Nantes, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in France Eldar Mammadov and Zaur Farhadov, coordinator of the Coordination Council of France Azerbaijanis Togrul Zeynalov and members of the Council attended the opening ceremony. About 90 Azerbaijanis, including 25 students living in this country, took part at the opening ceremony. The speakers spoke about the importance of creating a school in France and viewed it as an example of the state’s care about our compatriots living abroad. There will be two classes for students aged 6-9 and 9-13 in the Azerbaijani school Karabakh. Pupils will study the Azerbaijani language, history, geography, literature and culture of Azerbaijan. The school also has a library, which contains books about our country in French and Azerbaijani languages. At the ceremony, students of the school read poems, sang the song “Sari Gelin” and danced Yally. Support for the future activities of the school will be provided by the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora (FSAD).
