On May 20, the head of the International Organization for Migration in Spain, Maria Jesus Herrera, received the Executive Director Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, Elshad Aliyev and members of the Committee's delegation.

At the meeting, Herrera spoke about the impact of globalization on European countries, as well as Spain, and said that migration has had a significant impact on the socio-cultural life of the country. In this regard, there was noted that the International Organization for Migration and the representative in Spain have implemented many activities and projects to integrate migrants into the new society. She also stressed that she has information about 3,000 Azerbaijanis living in Spain. She also expressed that that the mission headed by her is ready to cooperate with the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Spain and the Diaspora organizations, and to support the Azerbaijani community in Spain.

Following the discussions, the Executive Director of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, Elshad Aliyev informed the about the activities of the organization headed by him - the Diaspora Youth Summer Camp with participation of our young compatriots from around the world. He also noted that the Foundation will continue to support the initiatives on implementation of social and cultural projects of our compatriots living expatriate life in order to maintain their ties with the motherland.
