On 18 August 2020, an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Azerbaijani artist Shamil Aliyev and the restoration of independence of the Republic of Estonia was held in Azerbaijani House in Estonia.

Niyazi Hajiev, Chairman of the Estonian-Azerbaijani Cultural Centre, and Zahra Gahramanli, Head of the Azerbaijani House in Estonia, opened the event and acquainted the participants with the creative activities of Shamil Aliyev.

Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Estonia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Estonia, members of the Estonian Parliament, the Ministry of Culture and Tallinn Self-Government, Integration Fund and representatives of national minorities living in Estonia.

In the lobby of the House, guests have seen an exhibition of works reflecting the life and work of the Azerbaijani artist Shamil Aliyev, who lives in Narva, Estonia.

The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Estonia, Tonis Lucas, presented the Azerbaijani artist Shamil Aliyev with a gratitude letter for his contribution to the development of peoples and cultures. An advisor to the Minister of Culture, Anne-Lee Reima, gave the artist a gratitude letter. In addition, the artist was awarded a gratitude letter from the head of the Estonian Integration Foundation, Irene Kjaosar, for preserving the rich culture and art of Azerbaijan and passing them on to the younger generation. The representative of the Foundation Cristina Pyrgop gave him a gratitude letter.

The event continued with a concert program. The famous Estonian opera singer Maria Veretenina, living in England, Estonian musician Daniel Djulle, living in Poland, and young Azerbaijani Nargiz Askerova, performing pleasant music, took part in the programme.

The exhibition will be exhibited in Azerbaijani House in Estonia until September 18, 2020.
