One of the activities of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora is to provide financial assistance for the organization and development of public, cultural and other associations established by Azerbaijanis living abroad. For this purpose, the Fund financed the course project of «Era» theatre «Acting, theatre and cinema» initiated by Azerbaijani youth living in Georgia.

On August 4, 2020, the opening ceremony of the new «Era» theatre was held.  Representatives of Parliament, diplomatic corps, Azerbaijani community, local community and members of «Era» theatre took part in the event.

Opening the ceremony, the artistic director of the theatre, Anar Rafiqoglu, said that he was pleased to welcome guests to their new office in the centre of the city. The artistic director looked at the way of the theatre and noted that with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, they had entered a more interesting phase of activity.

The ceremony was addressed by Georgian Parliamentary Deputy Gogi Meshveliani, First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia Rahim Rahimzade, Chairman of the Georgian Chapter of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan Rafiq Hummat, Honored Cultural Worker of Azerbaijan Namiq Hajiyev, Publicist-translator Jambul Mamedli, Head of Garatakhla High School Bahram Isaev and others. The Speakers celebrated this cultural event as a significant day in the history of Azerbaijani theatres in Georgia and wished success to the theatre collective.

In the artistic part of the event, applause was given to the monologue of the young actor Ali Ilgaroglu.
