On 12 February, the Supervisory Board of the Foundation for the Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora held the next meeting devoted to the activities of 2021.

At the meeting, the Supervisory Board considered the projects submitted to the Fund’s electronic system by diaspora organizations and representatives during the last quarter of 2020 and January and February of this year.

The Fund staff first examined the projects, prepared the relevant conclusions, and then submitted them to the Supervisory Board for a decision. As a result of the discussions held at the meeting, it was decided to allocate funds for projects mainly related to the provision of information to Azerbaijanis living abroad, providing free legal advice, promoting the Azerbaijani language, history, and culture, and celebrating the 880th anniversary of the genius poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi.

The Fund, which has been active through online platforms since 2020 during the quarantine period imposed by the global COVİD-19 pandemic, has implemented numerous projects since then. During the current year, the Fund will continue to conduct online projects, as long as the results of the pandemic and prohibitions on the conduct of major events in many countries remain in force.
